CD Design for band Commerce

I thought some of you all might want to see the new cd artwork we just finished up for the band Commerce. The production quality on this album is unreal.

Like a snake bite!

Tonight, while bringing my beloved titanium powerbook g4 (yep, it's old but it's a powerhorse!) upstairs, I foolishly left the power cable plugged in and it wrapped around a door handle and made me trip. I took quite a tumble and now my powerbook is being propped up by a cookie jar to stay open. The hinges are totally blown and my external wifi card is completely bent up BUT OTHER THAN THAT it's in perfect working order. For right now, at least. It's kind of unbelieveable.

Anyone have some old powerbook hinges they'd like to donate to the Argyle Academy!?

also, here's a scan from today's journal that includes a test painting for an illustration project I'm working on:

the PICTOPLASMA character encyclopaedia

The new pictoplasma (berlin) books are here, and they are by far the most beautiful bound books I've seen in a long time! As of right this second they're not available in the big chain bookstores (that I know of, at least), but you can order directly from their site: www.pictoplasma.com

uh-oh.

For those of you who weren't following Lionel's Journal until recently, every once and a while he likes to make little drawings about a bowl of fruit with and apple and a pear in a relationship and a third-wheel banana. Here's the latest:

We're back!!

After a week of few updates, we're back! The Argyle Academy crew (sans-Brandon) were all down in Johnson City, TN for a full-fledged multi-media presentation. Special thanks to Matthew Little who put it all together. We'll have some photos for you later, but for now here's a lamp:

ping pong champs?

Two full days worth of updates!

Where have I been since Monday? Well, we've been working hard on making some huge changes over in the shop section of our site. I'll let you know as soon as they're up and ready for your eyes to...uh...feast...on.

AND, while working on that, my journal (moleskine, of course) got a much needed face lift:

Argyle Academy interview in the issue of Affalog

The new issue of the Chinese arts/culture/media magazine has an interview with Argyle Academy artist, (me) Mike Lowery. For now all the info is in Chinese (and you have to buy it in Yuan), but as soon as we get more info we'll post it.

This issue is called "you are what you eat" and has me talking about my favorite meal. What is it? You'll have to wait and see.

Lionel's thoughts on sports.
